Residents outraged over proposed rezoning plan
A video was created to demonstrate the actual traffic issues that exist with the current traffic around the high school.
Adding this commercial center, it will double the traffic and add supply trucks and new traffic to an already congested area.
There is an active proposal by a developer who wants to COMMERCIALLY rezone the land near Pinnacle High School.
The land has NOT been bought yet and the rezoning has NOT been approved yet.
When you bought your home, the expectation was that our community would remain residential.
If our community would start allowing commercial zones- it will set a precedent for future proposals.
They will not stop adding shopping centers, fast food restaurants and gas stations.
The proposed zoning allows 200 other types of shops!
Going forward, they will NOT stop requested amendments to change their initial proposal.
We need everyone in Desert Ridge to voice their opposition and write an email to:
Anthony.grande@phoenix.gov (Village Planner assigned to this proposal).
pdd.planningcomm@phoenix.gov (City Planning Commission)
and include council.district.2@phoenix.gov (Councilman Jim Waring)
For most residents, it may not affect you directly, but please consider your neighbors and consider what a great community Desert Ridge is today.
We have all bought our homes knowing we have great schools, parks and playgrounds and above all, that it was a Planned Residential Community.
There are pre-approved commercial lots available for this developer on Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak to add a new grocer.
Let's not ruin our community for the residents and children that will live here after we're gone and want the same great experience we enjoyed.
